My name is Julie Gemma. I am a mother of 3 teenage boys and that has been my main focus for many years. To work backwards, I grew up in East Greenwich and went to the public schools there. I graduated from Wheaton College and moved to Connecticut to do a 2 year teaching internship and get an MAT. I got a job teaching 3rd grade in Armonk NY and worked there for 6 years. Once we started a family, though, we wanted to move home to be closer to our families. It was at that point that I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with my kids. I worked for my husband and felt like I wasn't able to go back to teaching because, knowing how time consuming and exhausting teaching is, I was worried that I couldn't be an effective and devoted teacher with all my other responsibilities. I didn't really like the business world.....and am now ready and eager to get back into education and give it everything I've got. I'm so excited to be around children again and find myself getting caught up in their excitement to try new things and learn.
